Deep River is continuing to expand as we enter our 5th year in business. We have expanded our territories to Eastern NC and our production has surpassed 5,000 bbl/year. We have the following job opening at Deep River Brewing:  Eastern North Carolina Sales Representative

JOB TERRITORY: New Bern, Jacksonville, Greenville, Goldsboro, Wilmington, Outer Banks, Rocky Mount and surrounding towns. Sales Rep would preferably be based in Wilmington, New Bern or Greenville area.

JOB DESCRIPTION: This person is focused on growing sales within the assigned territory and increasing the sales foot print as time goes on. The sales representative will work closely with our Distributor and the brewery. Daily customer/distributor interaction is of utmost importance and attendance at promotional events and samplings will be required. As the distribution network increases we see this position’s territory growing as well. The ideal candidate would be willing to relocate to the area or live in the territory.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Establish new accounts
  • Responsible for visiting and servicing existing accounts
  • Bring samples and discuss beer options with new and existing accounts
  • Train distributors & retail accounts (including bartender & waitstaff personnel) on all brands
  • Relay orders to the distributor and follow up to ensure order was delivered
  • Conduct monthly meetings with distribution partners to monitor sales and continue growth
  • Schedule and conduct crew drives in sales territory on a regular basis
  • Develop a strategy/marketing plan to increase sales within sales territory
  • Review sales data from distributor and analyze the results back to management on a weekly basis
  • Maintain detailed notes on each account within the territory and report back to management on weekly basis
  • Assist in representing Deep River Brewing Co at select festivals
  • Scheduling of promotional events and tastings
  • Hosting various tastings/promo events around the sales territory at least 2-3 times per week.
  • Delivery of beer, tap handles, and merchandise as needed
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license with a clean record
  • Maintain mileage records and expense reports
  • Provide monthly reports on sales trends, sales dollars/volume sold, and upcoming events
  • Provide top notch service to all customers
  • Represent DRBC in a professional manner at all times
  • Work a minimum of 40 hours per week
  • Overnight stays within territory will be required occasionally
  • Night and weekend work required

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years experience in outside beer sales is required 
  • Must be comfortable driving long distances
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Excellent organizational, communication and administrative skills
  • Time management and prioritization skills
  • Must be independent thinking and hard working
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft office – Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Gmail, Google Calendar
  • College degree preferred
