BITTER UNICORN TEARS

ALC. 7.2% BY VOL.

Bitter Unicorn Tears is a highly imaginary recipe that the fine folks at Tyler’s Taproom and Deep River developed as a departure from the traditional IPA. And India Pale Lager (IPL) is like an IPA from a parallel universe. We use a lager strain of yeast in this beer and ferment it at a lower temperature which helps to highlight the hop flavor and aroma. We hop this beer with over two pounds per barrel of a blend of some of the most hard to get hops known as “unicorn tears” in the hop world. The unicorn tears mixed with rainbow shavings help make this beer highly coveted. No unicorns were harmed in the making of this beer.

CARPETBAGGER IMPERIAL IPA

ALC. 9.7% BY VOL.

The Carpetbagger elusively strolls into town with hops from far away lands. Don’t bet your futures on it. But if we made this beer year round, we wouldn’t be hop poor. Here is to the beer that is released once a year and cherished by all.

This beer is an Imperial IPA that we purpously add a huge amount of late addition hops to. We balance everything out with a large dose of high Alpha Acid Hops both prior to and at the beginning of the boil we then dry hop this beer 3 seperate times to give the beer the 1-2 punch that every hophead can enjoy.

DRAG THE RIVER

ALC. 13.9% BY VOL.

Drag The River is an American style barleywine aged in bourbon barrels for 16 months. The beer has notes of raisins, caramel, and toffee. The body can be characterized as chewy and slightly viscous. Just like dragging the river you can expect something different from every dray (sip) from this barleywine. Enjoy this beer, Mateys!

COLLABORATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION

ALC. 12.8% BY VOL.

The origins of the namesake and making of this beer starts with Ted (Head Beaver). He has been a long time supporter of Deep River and has always rolled out the red carpet for events at his place and is a genuinely swell dude (Beaver). We have been talking about doing a collaboration together since we opened. The stipulations of the beer were that it needed to be above 10% ABV, have coffee, and be aged in barrels. The first time we brewed this beer the Head Beaver was quite late. We poked and proded as to his excuse but could only surmise that he was busy building dams and forgot his phone back at the beaver lodge.

DONKEY SAUCE

ALC. 7.7% BY VOL.

Donkey Sauce is a New England style IPA brewed with over 5 pounds of hops per barrel. We use all the sexy hops like mosaic galaxy and citra hops including a few others in this beer. We use a high chloride to sulfate ratio to lend it a nice soft velvety mouthfeel full of citrus notes.

Like Guy Fieri, we put this stuff on everything.

YACHTY BY NATURE

ALC. 7.9% BY VOL.

Canopy is the crack design team behind our sweet digital, printed, and social media. We decided to collaborate on a beer that was visceral in nature and when you take a sip with your eyes closed it was like you were on a yacht of your dreams sailing the seven seas…seriously though, Canopy has a yacht and we were hoping to borrow it for a weekend so we brewed them a beer.

PICKLETOWN

ALC. 4.4% BY VOL.

Pickles have been an Important food group to our team since we opened our doors. When our friends at R&R Brewery opened in Mt. Olive, NC, it made perfect sense to partner with them to create a pickle beer which was near and dear to both of our hearts and, more importantly, our stomachs. Enjoy o ur unique twist on a jar full of pickles

WEE HEAVY

ALC. 8.7% BY VOL.

Hey there lumberjack! This is a big time beer for specimen of an individual like you. We let this beer sleep in bourbon barrels to get notes of vanilla and toffee. Clocking in at 8.7 ABV our Wee Heavy gives a 1-2 punch of nice sweet and silky malt backbone that cuts cleaner than a crosscut saw.

Enjoy this beer as it only comes out once a year and when it’s gone it’s gone!

SPRUCE & HEMLOCK

ALC. 7.1% BY VOL.

We went back to our roots and dug up our traditional piney resinous IPA recipe. It’s a hoppy monster that has the majority of its hops added late in the boil & whirlpool as well as 5 pounds per barrel of dry hops! This beer clocks in at 75 IBUs and 7.1% ABV. We like to think it is a tip of the hat to the history of the Adirondacks, the home of the Lumberjacks, where Paul is originally from.
